Teachers can ask Bruukki to take the curriculum into account when creating materials

Bruukki can now take the curriculum into account when teachers make learning materials. The workspace admin selects in settings which curricula the workspace follows. After that, Bruukki takes the objectives, contents and assessment criteria of the selected curricula into account when a teacher in the workspace makes a material and sets its level and subject.

Including your own municipality’s curriculum

The selection covers the Finnish national core curricula for basic education, general upper secondary and vocational education, plus over a thousand local curricula. The data comes from the ePerusteet service of the Finnish National Agency for Education. If your municipality’s or school’s curriculum is in ePerusteet, you can select exactly that one. The local emphases are then taken into account from the start, without writing them out for the AI separately.

How to turn it on

  1. Open Workspace curricula in the workspace settings. The selection is made by a workspace admin.
  2. Choose the country, school (optional) and curricula.
  3. Save. The selections appear as ready suggestions for every member of the workspace.

From then on, when you make a material and set its level and subject, Bruukki takes into account the objectives, contents and assessment criteria linked to the curriculum.

The teacher still decides

The curriculum guides how the material is made, but the outcome stays in your hands. The AI suggests, you decide what goes to your students.

We also wrote a guide on the topic: How to align your own teaching materials with the curriculum and local emphases. It walks through what a teacher should consider when connecting their own material to curriculum objectives, contents and assessment criteria.
