How to share a Bruukki material with students via a link
You can share a Bruukki material as a link students open in the browser without signing in. Here is how sharing works and what a student sees.
The material is ready in Bruukki, and the next step is getting it to your students. Until now that has meant an export: a PDF for printing, or a file to upload to your learning environment. There is a more direct route now. You can share the material as a link that a student opens in the browser without signing in.
This guide goes through sharing step by step. It also covers what a student sees behind the link and what stays out.
What the student link is
The link opens a reading view of the material: a plain web page that works on a computer and on a phone. The student needs no account and no sign-in. The page cannot be edited, and correct answers are removed from the exercises. The blanks in a fill-in-the-blanks exercise show as empty, so you can run the exercises in class or as homework and go through the answers the way you prefer.
Behind the link is the material as it stood at the moment you shared it. When you edit the material afterwards, the changes do not reach students on their own. You decide when a new version goes out.
How to share a material
- Open the material and choose Share link from the menu at the top (three dots).
- Check the preview. You see the page exactly as a student sees it. The summary on the right tells you which sections are visible and which stay out.
- Choose Share with students.
- Copy the link and pass it to your students, through Teams, Google Classroom or your learning environment.
The shared version is also saved to the material’s version history, so you can see afterwards which version your students got.
What a student sees and what stays out
A student sees the sections of the material in the order you wrote them: texts, images, mathematical formulas, vocabulary lists, fill-in-the-blanks exercises and listening exercises with their audio.
Two things always stay out. Correct answers to the exercises are removed from the page. So are the sections you excluded from export in the material’s export settings, and empty sections. Bruukki lists the sections that stay out before you share, so nothing drops off unnoticed.
If the material contains AI-generated content, the student page states that parts of the content were generated with AI and that the teacher has reviewed it. The note is visible to you already in the preview, so you always approve exactly the page a student gets.
Same link, newest version
When you edit the material and want the update to reach students, share it again. The same link starts showing the newest version right away. A link you passed to your learning environment once does not go stale, even if you fix a typo or add an exercise. You can also stop sharing at any time.
No sign-in, no data collection
Opening the link asks the student for no account, no sign-in and no app install. Bruukki also stores no data about the reader: no name, no email, no cookies. You can share the link with a whole group without working out who has an account and who does not.
When the link, when an export
The link is the fastest route when you want students to read the material. Exports serve other needs:
