8. Content and Intellectual Property

8.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all Materials you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store and process your content to provide the Service, including generating AI-powered suggestions using your content within your own session
  • Create backups for data protection
  • Display content to users you share it with
  • Anonymized data for development: If Bruukki uses content data to train AI models or build training datasets, such data will be anonymized before use, including removal of user identifiers, metadata, and any content that could identify the author. Normal service operation (such as AI-powered suggestions generated from your own content) does not constitute development use. Your original, identifiable content will not be used for AI training or development without anonymization.

8.2 AI-Generated Content

Content suggestions generated by AI features:

  • Are provided as assistance, not final content
  • Should be reviewed and edited by you
  • May not be unique (similar suggestions may be provided to others)
  • Remain your responsibility once accepted into your Materials

8.3 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and technology, is owned by Bruukki. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without permission.

  • The upload and use of the content in the Service does not infringe the rights of any third party
  • Where the content incorporates third-party material (such as images, text excerpts, or other works), you have the rights required for that use, including teacher-created materials that may contain incorporated third-party works

A collective licensing arrangement held by your school or institution does not in itself authorise uploading third-party copyrighted content to Bruukki. You are responsible for verifying that any licence you rely on covers use within a third-party platform before uploading content to the Service.

8.5 Copyright Infringement — Notice and Takedown

Bruukki respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content available through the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to:

  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf

We will review notices promptly and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the reported content. We will notify the user who uploaded the content of any action taken.
